Originally supplied brand new to a Mr Anthony Milburn of Rufforth Hall near York. During his ownership the body was converted to a saloon, this was very common in the 1920’s and possibly due to an increasing family. The car remained with the milburns right up to world war two. It is not known if the car was then taken for the war effort. Next owner was mr majzub of st leonards grange – redditch. In 1983 it was purchased by mr g munton of ruskington near lincoln. The car was very seldom used and in 1987 the well known and very reputable coach builders h. Horsefield & son carried out a full overhaul of the engine ( which is the original ) and chassis. They fitted one of their traditional barrel sided open tourer bodies, the car was painted ivory / new tan hood & side screens / red leather upholstery. They kept the car themselves for quite some time until it was bought by an elderly gentleman who has owned it for the last 15 years. If you consider the age of this vehicle ( now 93 years young ) and how poor road conditions were back in the 1920’s, it is proof that this particular model is a true credit to rolls royce as the car is still on the road today and running beautifully, still with it’s original engine etc. There are various marks around the body but it is totally solid and would be very easy and straightforward to rectify and repaint should you wish to make it perfect.
